The Hoag chair -
I sculped with my hands, not with words. I can’t put it better than this!
“The hand crafted furniture of Joseph Lamerton is truly a work of art. The choice of wood, the design, the finish, and the workmanship come together to make an incredibly beautiful and timeless heirloom. I’m so proud of the Hoag armchair I purchased. It resembles a throne to me, but its simplicity makes it at home with any style or surroundings. The beauty of the wood itself is the star of the piece. I am in love with it.” - Valued Customer

The number seven chair is a mid-century modern design. A ladder back chair aptly named from the seven slats that make up the back… and the number of times I cursed the decision to use SEVEN of them as I build, sand, cut the tenons, cut the mortises, and then the glue up/assembly of them. But all that is worth it in the end with this chair because what results is a feather light yet strong chair that cradles your back in a comfortable relaxed dining position.
Shown here in solid Cherry, the Number 7 Chair features genuine danish cord seats, and each ladder back slat is cross pinned with a solid brass pin. This gives the joint more strength and a beautiful detail that can only truly be appreciated in person.
